Perspective™ Privacy Policy

NCS Pearson, Inc. ("Pearson") respects your right to privacy. This Privacy Policy applies to the Perspective™ website ("Site"), which provides information about interpreting reports about state assessments and provides access to learning materials, such as study guides, worksheets, games and tutorials in specific subject areas, and professional development information for teachers. Except as noted below, this website is not designed to collect personal information from users, but inquiries, comments, and support requests may be submitted via email.

Collection and Use of Information

This Site is not designed for the collection of information. The information provided herein is available for downloading. To the extent you provide Pearson with information during the course of an inquiry, we may collect such information in order to respond to the inquiry. We may also share this information with the State Department of Education for the state to which this website relates. Users of this Site may send comments, inquiries, or request support in using this Site by sending an email to SupportPerspective@support.pearson.com.. We request that these emails include the following information: name and email address, computer operating system and browser, school name and district, city and state, and a description of the question or support needed. We collect and use this information to respond to the inquiry and provide support, to maintain our support records, and to evaluate and improve this Site and our services.

Certain Educator intended features of this Site require the User to create a User-ID and/or Password in order to access special features. The user may also be required to provide Pearson with an e-mail address in order to receive an automatically generated password, or other user requested information from the Perspective system. In the event you provide Pearson with your e-mail address, such information will be used by Pearson in order to send the automatically generated e-mail. Do not use personally identifiable information when you create User-ID's or Passwords.

Personal Information from Children

This website is designed to supply information, and not for collecting information. Although this website offers access to learning materials for students under the age of thirteen (13), this website is intended to supply these resources without collecting any personally identifiable information from students, including, but not limited to, those under the age of 13. Pearson will not knowingly collect, maintain, or use any personally identifiable information supplied by anyone under the age of thirteen (13) through this Site.

Information Sharing or Disclosure

Except for the limited exceptions set forth below, Pearson will not share with, or disclose to, third parties, the names of users, students or other personally identifiable information collected through or in connection with this Site. Pearson may, however, disclose personally identifiable information:
  • As requested or required by the State Education Agency for the Assessment Program or the user's or student's school district.
  • In response to subpoenas, court orders or legal process, to the extent permitted or required by law;
  • To protect student or user security, or the security of other persons, consistent with applicable laws; As required by law;
  • In connection with the sale, joint venture or transfer of some or all of the assets of NCS Pearson, Inc.; and/or
  • To affiliated companies and contractors of Pearson who are obligated to take appropriate commercially reasonable steps to maintain the confidentiality of such information and use it solely for the purposes specified in this Privacy Policy.
Non-personally identifiable aggregated information may be used for research and development and may be disclosed to third parties.

Information Received from Internet Service Providers

This Site receives information that is automatically generated by a user's internet service provider (ISP). This information may include the IP address (a number automatically assigned to a computer by the ISP), the associated URLs, domain types, the browser type used to access our Site, the country, state and telephone area code, the location of the ISP's servers, the pages of our Site that the user views during the visit, any search terms entered on this Site, and the user's Site address and email address. This information may be collected for system administration purposes, to gather broad demographic information, and to monitor the level of activity on the Site. Pearson does not link IP addresses to personally identifiable information. We reserve the right, however, to link IP addresses and other information supplied by the ISP to personally identifiable information in order to protect the integrity of our system and for security purposes.

Cookies

Cookies are small text files that a Site transfers to your computer's browser. We use cookies to measure traffic patterns, personalize content, and control security. The cookies we use supply non-personally-identifiable information, but they may identify your computer, browser, and internet specifications
